Ammar Al Attar: Silent Residues: Curated by Nasser Abdullah

Iris Projects presents the first solo exhibition by Ammar Al Attar, a key figure in the UAE’s contemporary avant-garde movement, and known for his multidisciplinary approach.

Al Attar engages with abandoned and peripheral spaces across the UAE - sites marked by remnants of human presence, industrial debris, and forgotten landscapes. Through repetitive gestures and physical encounters with these environments, he transforms overlooked objects into carriers of memory and meaning.

His works unfold as quiet meditations on impermanence, protection, and the persistence of routine, revealing both the burden and poetry of repetition. By positioning his body as both subject and medium, Al Attar expands photography into performance, sound, sculpture, painting and installation, offering visitors an experience that questions how individuals endure and adapt within a rapidly changing world.
