Ammar Al Attar's 'Door Series' : Seoul Museum of Art

The Soul Museum of Art and ADMAF Abu Dhabi present Proximites, a major exhibtion exploring contemporary art from the United Arab Emirates.  We are proud to share that Ammar Al Attar is part of the exhibition with his Door Series (photography). 

Produced in the early 2010s, the work documents doors from old houses across different neighbourhoods - many of which no longer exist. These doors reflect the layered cultural histories of the UAE: from the 1970s - 80s, when homes were inhabited by Emirati families and adorned with symbols such as falcons, plam trees and South Asian communities. 

Through the doors, Al Attar captures the quiet coexistence of cultures and the shifting social frabric of the UAE.
