Maryam Al Falasi's journey of creativity and innovation began during the first months of the pandemic outbreak. “While I was still studying archeology and art history at Sorbonne University with my business partner-to-be, Lateefa Bin- Hamoodah, the idea of Iris Art, an institution that supports emerging artists and promotes their artwork, came into being,” she recalls. “We were investing heavily in the art for our collections and saw a potential gap in the market,” adds Maryam. “We started with the idea of providing a digital- art consultancy, connecting artists with those interested in the field. “What inspires me the most is the abundant possibilities that the country’s leaders have given everyone and the way the UAE celebrates their successes, which represent its own,” says Maryam. Over the next 50 years, Maryam’s ambitions are to contribute to growth and prosperity. “My goal is to enrich the aesthetic art scene at the local and global levels and promote our Emirati arts and culture and reflect its inspiring image.
