Art Dubai 2026: 7 exhibitions, talks and performances not to miss

Condé Nast Traveller, May 14, 2026

This is a special year for Art Dubai. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the fair will take place at Madinat Jumeirah from 15 to 17 May, with free entry for all and will include contemporary, modern and digital presentations from international, regional, and local galleries and spaces.

From thought-provoking and diverse group shows and solo exhibitions to talks, performances and so much more, here are seven things not to miss at Art Dubai 2026.

Abu Dhabi-based contemporary gallery Iris Projects will present the works of two emerging Emirati artists, Safeya Sharif Al Awadhi and Alyazia Al Nahyan. Using plant pigments drawn from the natural world, Al Awadhi transforms organic material into atmospheric visuals evocative of landscapes. Her new body of work focuses on cycles of growth as observed in nature.

Moving across mediums and influenced by concepts of architectural memory and spatial translation, Sharif’s experiments with material playoptimised with form. Sharif will be presenting a series of wall-based sculptures, alongside studies exploring sand dunes.
