  • Gallery Assistant

    Position: Gallery Assistant
    Location: Abu Dhabi (In-Person)
    Employment Type: Full-Time
    Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

    Role Summary

    The Gallery Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of Iris Projects, ensuring the smooth management of artist records, artwork documentation, gallery administration, and database maintenance. This role is ideal for a highly organised individual with a strong interest in contemporary art and gallery operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Artist & Artwork Administration

    • Organise and maintain artist CVs, biographies, and supporting documentation.
    • Create, file, and store Certificates of Authenticity (COAs) for artworks.
    • Upload and maintain artwork records and images in ArtLogic.
    • Update artist contact information, including email and physical addresses.
    • Prepare payment vouchers (PVs) for artists as required.

    Digital & Social Media Support

    • Assist with Instagram content creation and scheduling.
    • Upload and organise images across gallery platforms and archives.

    Database & Contact Management

    • Compile and enter contact information collected from exhibitions, art fairs, and gallery visitors.
    • Maintain and expand the gallery’s CRM and contact database.

    Office Management & Administration

    • Monitor and replenish office supplies.
    • Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations.
    • Assist with scheduling, filing, and organisational tasks as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Arts Management, or a related field.
    • Previous experience within an art gallery, art advisory, cultural institution, or similar environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.

    Desirable Skills

    • Experience with ArtLogic or similar gallery management software.
    • Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly Instagram.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Arabic language skills are an advantage but not essential

  • Gallery Internship

    Position: Gallery Intern
    Location: Iris Projects, MiZa (On-Site)
    Duration: 3 Months
    Hours: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (5 hours/day, 3 days per week)
    Start Date: September 2026

    Role Summary

    The Gallery Intern will support the daily operations of Iris Projects while gaining hands-on experience across gallery administration, project coordination, exhibition development, artist relations, and programme design. This internship is intended for emerging arts professionals seeking practical experience in the contemporary art sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    Gallery Operations & Visitor Engagement

    • Assist with daily gallery operations, including opening and closing procedures.
    • Support visitor engagement and front-of-house activities.

    Exhibitions & Projects

    • Assist with exhibition preparation, installation coordination, and de-installation.
    • Support exhibition planning and project development activities.
    • Participate in gallery meetings and contribute to project planning discussions.

    Artist & Artwork Administration

    • Maintain artist files, inventory records, and exhibition checklists.
    • Support collections management and artwork documentation processes.

    Communications & Programming

    • Assist in drafting materials for programmes, events, exhibitions, and communications.
    • Support gallery events and public programming initiatives.

    Administrative Support

    • Provide administrative assistance, including scheduling, research, database management, and supply monitoring.
    • Support general office organisation and operational tasks.

    Learning Outcomes

    By the end of the internship, the intern will have gained:

    • First-hand experience of private gallery operations.
    • Practical skills in administration, project coordination, and exhibition management.
    • Exposure to programme planning and gallery workflows.
    • A working understanding of artist relations, collections management, and event logistics.

    Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Art History, Fine Art, Museum Studies, Arts Management, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Professional communication skills and a positive attitude.

    Eligibility

    • Open to UAE residents of all nationalities.
    • Must be available to work on-site at Iris Projects, MiZa.
    • This internship is not available remotely or to international non-residents.
